Munitions Factory Explosion Memorial Sculpture - Ashton-under-Lyne

The sculpture was designed in conjunction with local school children as a memorial to the 1917 munitions factory explosion. A TNT factory that produced explosives for the WW1 war effort caught fire and the subsequent explosion killed many people and left hundreds wounded and homeless.

The sculpture is fabricated in stainless steel and electro-polished.
3.5 metres high above plinth.
