Entrance sculpture for the Daimler Green housing development in Radford,
Coventry.
The site was previously the home of the car makers Daimler and more
recently Jaguar. The company moved its manufacturing to the new plant at
Brown's Lane, and the site is now residential. The developers requested a
sculpture that recognised the important role that the factory had played in
the lives of the people who worked in it and lived beside it.
The sculpture is 5 metres high on a 700mm brick plinth.
The front details
show the emblems of Jaguar and Daimler while the details on the rear
describe the change of use of the area from industrial to residential.
